As members of the sports staff of The Observer, the University of Notre Dame’s student-run newspaper, we have inside access to one of the most high-profile athletic departments in the nation — both as students and as reporters.
Our dual roles, for example, allow us to stand in Notre Dame Stadium’s student section one Saturday and sit in its press box the next. Through this blog, The Casual Observer, we hope to provide our readers a unique look at Notre Dame sports from football to fencing to intramurals. Our aim is to use a professional journalistic approach while remembering who we are: Notre Dame students.
